Whether you are a resident, visiting, or just passing through our village, I welcome you to Gibsonburg. When people ask me about Gibsonburg the first thing I tell them is, “Gibsonburg is a great small hometown community, with great people.” Our people truly are our biggest asset, and we pride ourselves on the respect and kindness at which we show to our guests.
Gibsonburg is located in the Southwest corner of Sandusky County and centered in Northwest Ohio. We have a rich history centered on agriculture and our local farmers are the life blood of our community. Gibsonburg was founded in 1871 by William H. Gibson, and soon after become bustling hub within the region. Gibsonburg was founded on its vast supply limestone and oil. The Pennsylvania Rail Road connected the village to outside world and the rest is history.
During our 145 year history, Gibsonburg has seen many successes and suffered great tragedies. The people of our village have always shown a resilience to achieve their goals and overcome adversity. The will of Gibsonburg is strong and it has never been stronger than it is today.
Today Gibsonburg sits positioned to continue our success as community. I feel strongly about where we are headed and I am confident in our plan. We as a village are doing all the right things to protect our people, improve our community, and grow our future. We offer anyone looking to move to Gibsonburg a warm, safe, and welcoming family atmosphere. The Village of Gibsonburg also has 50+ acres of land available at Clearview Industrial Park , shovel ready and open for business.
I encourage you to come and visit our great community and take advantage of everything that Gibsonburg has to offer. Enjoy our wonderful parks, take a swim at White Star Quarry, stop in to the Ideal Bakery for a sweet treat, or go fishing at Silver Rock Park.
